  5. In Vogue : The Glitz and Glamour of the 1920s, a free exhibition, is now on at The Fishing Heritage Centre until Sunday 31 August. The exhibition contains party clothes and accessories from the 1920s. (29/07/08)

  8. Enterprise Week (17 - 23 November 2008) is a national celebration of enterprise with thousands of events and activities happening across the UK. You may wish to take the opportunity of enterprise week to organise enterprise activities as part of your school’s work related learning programme or to raise awareness of the new diplomas.   11. The Eco Challenge Project aims to give many disadvantaged school children the opportunity to experience and enjoy the natural environment through a range of adventurous, challenging and explorative activities in a safe and supportive environment. This training project is opened to schools within North East Lincolnshire and is for pupils of 11-14 year olds.   12. As of 31st July 2008 schools will no longer be able to download high resolution videos free from British Pathe. However schools can still download low resolution videos free. Previous high resolution material downloaded should be deleted by the end of July 2009. (08/07/08)

  13. Espresso Home Access Technical Update - Espresso will be emailing schools this week to highlight when using Espresso from home they recommend that only Microsoft Internet Explorer or Morzila Firefox is used. There are compatibility issues with the staff using the AOL browser and Espresso are unable to support this browser.   14. Learning through buildings and places - an exciting event that is to be run by arc, the architecture centre in Hull on 10 July 2008. This event is to support teachers to develop learning resources from the buildings and places in their region. Espresso Home Access Problems - following on from the maintenance work they carried out last week there have been further problems with the Espresso home access server and several schools have reported they are unable to see the service from home. The Espresso team are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. They apologise for any inconvenience this may cause in the interim. (17/06/08)

  32. Renewed Secondary Frameworks
    The new online Framework for Secondary English from the National Strategy is now accessible through the following link: http://www.standards.dcsf.gov.uk/secondary/frameworks The Framework website provides
    * lines of progression and a bank of learning objectives;
    * support for planning for increased pupil progress;
    * plenty of useful guidance – both on screen and materials that can be downloaded;
    * links to additional guidance, to key National Strategy materials, and to other useful websites;
    * link to interactive planning tool for English which can be downloaded.
    From September 2008 the website will be enhanced with additional exemplification materials to support planning, classroom pedagogy, and effective Assessment for Learning.   33. North East Lincolnshire Council is committed to improving creativity in its schools and, in 2005, welcomed the opportunity to be involved in this innovative project. Chameleon Creative Learning project follows Creative Partnerships initiatives around the country, working specifically towards the excellence and enjoyment agenda through all key stages, including foundation.   36. The NELC Primary Framework for ICT has been designed to support teachers and schools in delivering high quality learning and teaching for all children. It contains detailed guidance and materials to support the teaching of ICT in primary schools.
