Early learning goal...
80c - Use language such as circle of bigger to describe the shape and size of solids and flat shapes.

Ideas for resources
Giant cardboard boxes, small and large tubs and tubes, springs, metal bits and bobs, rubber gloves, large foil containers, cogs, art straws, 2D shapes, paper plates, PVA glue, string and other fastenings, glue gun (staff use only).

Activity
Children and adults work together to make a robot with moving parts that a child can fit inside, and decorate it with shapes.

Adults role
To use and develop children's understanding of the language of shape and size, and ensure that children experience being inside a 3D shape.
