cultures. (e.g. bread, snacks and meals).
Activity
A shopping expedition for food.
Starting
points: a topic, an event, a story, "What shall we have for dinner?",
a cookery book.
Go shopping
for the food items required.
Prepare and taste.
Adults role
To establish reasons for going to the shop and role model writing a
list. Whilst shopping, draw the children's attention to a range of food
from other cultures (e.g. at the delicatessen, fruit and vegetables,
tins and packets, fish, cheese etc.). To encourage children to try different
foods, widening their experiences.
